Hi, I'm Bob Katzman
Husband • Father • Actuary • Neighbor • Advocate for Glen Rock
I am a proud Glen Rock resident of more than 20 years, a dedicated husband, father of three,
and a retired Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society with more than 30 years of experience as
a Chief Actuary and Managing Director.
Throughout my career, I have analyzed complex problems, managed risk responsibly, and
made data-driven decisions — leading international teams with hundreds of employees and
budgets of over $10 million. I also served on the advisory board for Rutgers University’s
“Leading Disruptive Innovation” program.
I am running for Borough Council because I believe in Glen Rock’s potential -- and in the
power of smart, fiscally disciplined, common sense governance to help it thrive. The keystones
of my candidacy are keeping our schools among New Jersey’s best, ensuring our town
remains affordable for families and seniors, and supporting a downtown where small
businesses succeed and neighbors want to gather.
With your support, I will bring the same analytical rigor, collaborative spirit, and deep love for
this community to every decision on the Borough Council.
Why I'm Running
My family has called Glen Rock home for more than 20 years, and this town has given us so
much -- excellent schools, beautiful parks, a warm community, and lifelong friendships. I’m
running because I care deeply about Glen Rock’s future and want to do whatever I can to
ensure it remains a wonderful place to live, not just today but for future generations.
I’ve spent my career solving complex problems and building consensus across large
organizations. I believe that same practical, collaborative approach is exactly what local
government needs. What matters most is not party label, but a shared commitment to Glen
Rock. I will gather ideas from all residents regardless of party or background, and put the best
of those ideas to work. Effective governance depends on mutual respect, transparency, and
shared goals -- and that is what I am focused on.
