Common Sense Governance

Focused on What Matters.  Grounded in Reality.  Responsive to You.

Glen Rock's local government listens, leads with reason, and focuses on the issues that truly affect day-to-day life.  Bob and Ed are committed to this approach -- the kind that avoids distractions, embraces two-way communications and approaches challenges with a "can do" mindset to gets things done for the people of Glen Rock.

We are committed to tackling the practical, everyday issues that residents care about -- from property taxes and public safety to walkability, infrastructure, and quality of life.

Sidewalk Repairs: A Smarter Approach

One issue we hear about again and again is sidewalk repairs -- and for good reason.  Homeowners are facing the burden of extraordinarily high costs to replace sidewalks, even when the damage is caused by trees planted by the Borough decades ago.

We believe it’s time for a fair, transparent, and responsible approach to sidewalk policy -- one that protects walkability and safety while respecting the financial realities homeowners face.

We will:

  • Advocate for a revised sidewalk repair policy that takes into account the true cost and burden of replacement

  • Recognize the role that Borough-planted shade trees play in sidewalk upheaval -- and ensure the Borough takes responsibility where appropriate

  • Bring all stakeholders to the table -- including the Shade Tree Commission, engineers, contractors, and residents -- to find sustainable solutions

  • Explore cost-sharing models, phased implementation, and grant opportunities to ease the financial strain on residents

  • Ensure residents are treated fairly and given clear, consistent communication when sidewalk work is required

A Focus on What Actually Matters

Glen Rock’s challenges and opportunities are real and complex.  Residents expect their elected officials to use their time and energy on issues that actually matter.

We will:

  • Prioritize policies that address taxes, services, safety, infrastructure, and quality of life

  • Avoid spending time and resources on ordinances that have little or no tangible impact

  • Focus on improving the basics: roads, sidewalks, parks, emergency services, and budgeting

  • Seek out resident input and build policy based on facts, fairness, and real-life experiences

With Bob and Ed on Council, Glen Rock will continue to have leaders who cut through the noise, stay grounded in reality, and focus on delivering results that improve everyday life for residents.
